• GPT-5.2 outperformed Claude Opus 4.5 in long autonomous runs, avoiding shortcuts

This shows AI coding agents have crossed a capability threshold. When swarms can collaborate for weeks and ship million-line systems, the cost, speed, and structure of software development fundamentally change.

💰 Sequoia Eyes Anthropic in $25B Mega Round

Sequoia Capital may join Coatue and Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC in Anthropic’s upcoming mega round, a rare move that puts the VC behind three major AI rivals at once.

• Round could value Anthropic at ~$350B, more than 2× its valuation from four months ago

• Coatue and GIC are expected to invest ~$1.5B each

• Sequoia already backs OpenAI and Elon Musk’s xAI, breaking its usual “one winner” rule

• Anthropic revenue reportedly crossed $10B annually, growing 10× YoY

This signals that AI is no longer a winner-takes-all bet. Top investors now expect multiple giants to dominate different parts of the AI stack, and they’re willing to back competitors to avoid missing out.

Hassabis said Chinese AI labs have rapidly closed the gap in model quality and efficiency, surprising many who believed China was still far behind. However, he argues the real test isn’t catching up, it’s pushing beyond the frontier.

• Chinese models are now only months behind U.S. and Western AI capabilities

• Labs like DeepSeek, Alibaba, Moonshot AI, and Zhipu have released strong models

• China has shown it can catch up, but not yet create breakthrough architectures

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to set up and use Claude Code, an AI agent that doesn’t just talk about your work, but actually acts on your files. Despite the scary name and terminal interface, Claude Code turns out to be one of the most practical AI tools you can run locally.

Think of it as Claude with hands.

What Can You Use Claude Code For (Besides Coding)?

Here’s where Claude Code really shines:

File Organization
Drop dozens of messy screenshots or documents into a folder and say:
“Rename these clearly and sort them into Work, Personal, and Finance.”

Deep Research
Ask Claude to research competitors, pricing, or trends, then save the results into a spreadsheet directly on your machine.

Content Library Management
If you have folders of markdown notes, writing drafts, or Obsidian vaults, Claude can read everything at once, summarize patterns, update tags, or extract insights.

Tedious Admin Tasks
Convert Word files to PDFs, extract email addresses, clean up filenames, or batch-process documents without manual work.

Install the Prerequisites

Before installing Claude Code, your system needs a few basics.

Install Node.js
Go to nodejs.org and download the LTS version. This is the runtime Claude Code depends on.

Install Git (Windows only)
Visit git-scm.com and install Git. This gives you the terminal environment Claude prefers.

Open Your Terminal

• Mac: Press Cmd + Space, type Terminal, and open it

• Windows: Search for Terminal, right-click it, and choose Run as Administrator

Install and Set Up Claude Code

Now you’ll install Claude Code itself.

Run the Install Command

Paste the appropriate command into your terminal and press Enter:

• Windows:
  irm https://claude.ai/install.ps1 | iex

• Mac/Linux:
  curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash

Start Claude Code
Once installation finishes, type:
claude
and press Enter.

Authenticate
Claude will display a short code and a login link.
Open the link in your browser, log in to your Claude Pro account, paste the code back into the terminal, and you’re connected.

Try a Simple Example (Un-Mess Your Desktop)

Let’s use Claude Code for a simple but powerful task.

Create a Sandbox Folder
On your Desktop, create a folder called AI_Work.
Move a bunch of messy, unorganized files into it.

Navigate to the Folder
In your terminal, type:
cd Desktop/AI_Work
(or drag the folder into the terminal after typing cd).

Run Claude Code
Type claude, then give it this prompt:

“I’m new to this. Look at the files in this folder. Rename them clearly, create subfolders for Drafts, Images, and Research, and move everything into the right place. Tell me what you changed.”

Claude will show you a plan first.
Type y to approve.

In seconds, your chaotic folder becomes perfectly organized.
