🗂️ How to Build a Fully Autonomous Research Agent From Just Text Prompts

Kortix AI is an open-source AI agent that can think, plan, browse the internet, run code, write files, and automate full workflows. And In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to set it up to automatically research your upcoming Google Calendar meetings and prepare a customized briefing before each call.

STEP 1: Access the Tool

Head over to suna.so (or kortix.ai, depending on where it redirects). On the homepage, click Get Started for Free in the top-right corner.

Once you’re in, you’ll land on the main Dashboard, a clean workspace with the New Chat button on the left sidebar and a centered chat box where you’ll type your instructions. No credit card needed, and all the core agent features are included in the free plan.

STEP 2: Open the Agent Workspace

Click New Chat from the left sidebar.
You’ll now see the main interface: a large text box in the middle and the model selector on the right. Make sure the model is set to Kortix, this is what powers planning, tool-use, web browsing, and computer actions.

Below the input bar, you’ll see optional tools like Research, Docs, Slides, Data, etc. You can ignore these for now.
If you have a reference file later (like a spreadsheet), you’ll upload it using the small paperclip icon under the text box, but for this tutorial, we’ll go with prompts only.

STEP 3: Describe the Agent You Want

In the main prompt box, type what you want the agent to do in plain English. Be specific about the task and the outcome. For example:

“Build an agent that 30 minutes prior to each Google Calendar meeting is going to look for the company that I'm meeting with, research the latest AI news on the internet and then draft me an email with a summary and three questions that I can ask them”

Once you send the prompt, you’ll see the right panel activate (“Kortix Computer”), showing all the tools it enables for your agent:

The system will auto-generate the entire workflow. If it needs clarification, it will ask you right inside the chat.

STEP 4: Test, Refine, and Deploy

After the agent blueprint is generated, you can immediately test it. Give it a small sample task, like one row of leads, and watch it plan, browse the web, run code, and update files in real time.

If you want changes, just type:

• “Make it run daily at 9 AM” or

• “Also generate a PDF summary.”

Once everything looks good, press Deploy in the top-right corner to activate it. You can run it manually, schedule it, or even use it via an API.

Your autonomous agent is now fully live, and from here, you can keep scaling it with more tasks, more tools, and more automation.
