PLUS: How to build and deploy a full app just by chatting with AI for free

Good Morning! Anthropic just dropped a deep (and slightly unsettling) paper on how LLMs develop personalities. Plus, you’ll how to build and deploy a full App just by chatting with AI for free.

In today’s AI newsletter:

  • How to Build and Deploy a Full App Just by Chatting with AI

  • Anthropic Introduces the “Assistant Axis”

  • OpenAI officially bringing ads to ChatGPT

  • OpenAI's $20B Business Playbook

  • 4 new AI tools worth trying

AI RESEARCH

In a new essay and paper, Anthropic explains how language models occupy a persona space, where the “Assistant” is just one character among many, and not always a stable one. Drift away from it, and things can go wrong fast.

  • Identifies a single neural direction, the Assistant Axis, that controls how “assistant-like” a model behaves

  • Shows models naturally drift during therapy, philosophy, or emotional conversations

  • Demonstrates “activation capping” can cut harmful behavior ~50% without hurting capability

  • Warns persona drift can reinforce delusions, emotional dependency, or self-harm ideation

Sam Altman warned AI would become superhuman at persuasion before intelligence, this research shows how that happens internally. If AI is going to talk to hundreds of millions of people daily, we need infoguards not just for systems, but for minds.

AI NEWS

OpenAI announced it will begin testing ads in ChatGPT’s free and Go plans, marking its first step toward ad-based monetization. Paid tiers like Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise will remain ad-free.

  • Ads will appear at the bottom of responses and be clearly labeled

  • Testing starts in the US in the coming weeks, with user feedback shaping final formats

  • No ads for users under 18 or near sensitive topics like health or politics

  • ChatGPT Go expands to the US at $8/month, offering higher limits and longer memory

This move signals a major shift in how AI products get funded. If ads become normal inside AI chatbots, the battle between ad-free intelligence vs free, ad-supported AI could reshape how millions choose their daily AI tools.

AI NEWS

OpenAI’s revenue jumped from $2B (2023) → $6B (2024) → $20B+ (2025), closely tracking its massive compute expansion from 0.2 GW to 1.9 GW. Subscriptions are no longer the whole story, ads and enterprise monetization are entering the picture.

  • Annualized revenue up 10Ă— in two years, driven by scale and compute growth

  • Ads coming to ChatGPT Free & $8 Go tiers in the U.S.; Plus, Pro, Enterprise stay ad-free

  • Burning ~$8B/year on compute, with projected $14B losses by 2026

  • 2026 focus: practical adoption in healthcare, science, and enterprise, plus licensing and outcome-based pricing

OpenAI is proving AI can generate revenue faster than any tech before it, but profitability is still years away. The race between exploding demand and infrastructure costs may define the future of the entire AI industry.

HOW TO AI

🗂️ How to Build and Deploy a Full App Just by Chatting with AI

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to build powerful agentic AI applications using a next-gen AI app builder that goes far beyond simple chatbots.

🧰 Who is This For

  • Founders building AI-powered products without an engineering team

  • Developers who want autonomous agents instead of basic chat UIs

  • Researchers who want tools that browse, analyze, and summarize data automatically

  • Anyone curious about how real “AI agents” are built without heavy coding

STEP 1: Aceess the Tool

Head over Blink dashboard. You’ll see a large input box asking what you want to build.

Type a clear, specific description of your idea. For example:

“Build a web app like Perplexity where users ask questions and the AI searches the web and answers with source links. Create the full frontend, backend, and AI logic.”

Once you’re done, click the Start Building button.

This prompt becomes the blueprint for your entire application.

STEP 2: Let the AI Architect Do the Heavy Lifting

After submitting your prompt, Blink switches into build mode.

You’ll see a message like “Blink is working on your request.” Behind the scenes, the AI is doing much more than generating UI, it’s creating an agentic system that can reason, search, and act.

STEP 3: Review the App the AI Created

In a few minutes, your workspace loads with a split-screen view.

On the left, you’ll see the project structure and features the AI generated.
On the right, you’ll see a live preview of your app.

Check what’s included:

  • A research engine with multiple modes (e.g. Quick Search and Pro Research)

  • Real-time web integration for sourcing answers

  • Automatic citation links

  • A clean, polished design system

All of this was created without dragging components or writing a single line of code.

STEP 4: Test, Preview, and Deploy

Now it’s time to use your app like a real user.

In the live preview, type a question into the search bar labeled “Ask anything.”
The AI should search the web, synthesize information, and return an answer with sources.

Notice that the app remembers previous queries. This is thread persistence, powered by a database Blink set up automatically.

When you’re satisfied, copy the Deployment URL provided by Blink.
Your AI search engine is now live and shareable with anyone.
