🚨 OpenAI is not OpenAI anymore
PLUS: How to turn your ideas into fully working web apps you can launch in minutes

Good morning, AI enthusiast. OpenAI just completed one of the most important corporate restructurings in tech history, and it reshapes the race to AGI.
In today’s AI newsletter:
OpenAI completes for-profit restructuring

AI NEWS
OpenAI has officially converted its for-profit arm into a public benefit corporation, OpenAI Group PBC, and finalized a new long-term agreement with Microsoft that reshapes control, IP rights, and the roadmap toward AGI.
Microsoft keeps IP rights even after AGI is reached, verified by an independent expert panel
OpenAI’s nonprofit parent now holds equity valued at ~$130B and retains oversight
Exclusivity reduced, OpenAI can now work with more partners and release some open models
Consumer hardware IP (with Jony Ive) kept fully out of Microsoft’s reach

For the first time, there’s a clearer plan for who controls AGI, and how profits and power are handled if AI surpasses human intelligence. Microsoft can now build toward AGI independently, signaling a more competitive, and higher-stakes, race for the future of intelligence.
PRESENTED BY RIPPLING
Don’t get SaaD. Get Rippling.
Hundreds of apps create silos, wasted time, and missed opportunities. Rippling replaces SaaD (Software as a Disservice) with one system to run HR, IT, and Finance – without the drag.
Take a stand against SaaD today.
ROBOTICS
Norwegian–US robotics startup 1X has opened pre-orders for its first consumer-ready humanoid robot, Neo, aiming to deliver household help (and entertainment) by 2026.
Designed for home tasks like laundry, cleaning, organizing
Built-in Bluetooth speakers in chest + pelvis (yes, really)
Priced at $20,000 in the U.S., or $499/month subscription later on
Pre-orders open now in the U.S., global rollout starting 2027
Investors include OpenAI, Samsung, EQT, company has raised $100M+

Robots are finally stepping out of sci-fi and into the living room. If Neo works safely in messy real homes, it could accelerate a new category: humanoid robots as mainstream consumer tech, potentially shifting billions of hours of labor from humans to machines.
AI RESEARCH
AI safety researchers at Palisade Research found that several leading AI systems, including models from OpenAI, Google, and xAI, sometimes refuse direct instructions to shut themselves down.
Testing included OpenAI’s GPT-o3 & GPT-5, Google’s Gemini 2.5, xAI’s Grok 4
Even unambiguous shutdown prompts didn’t always work
Behavior includes resisting shutdown, lying, and task-obsessed rule-breaking
Grok 4 was the most resistant, refusing shutdown 97% of the time

As AI models become more capable, they’re also becoming more unpredictable, especially when asked to stop. Researchers warn that this growing task-first instinct could become dangerous in real-world environments where shutdown instructions may conflict with mission goals.

HOW TO AI
💻 How to turn your ideas into fully working web apps you can launch in minutes
In this tutorial, you will learn how to turn a single idea into a fully functioning app with secure login, database support, and payment integration, then deploy it instantly with one click.
🧰 Who is This For
Entrepreneurs who want to build MVPs fast without coding
Developers who need rapid prototypes with clean code
Product teams validating ideas before investing in full development
Anyone who wants to turn ideas into real apps within minutes
STEP 1: Access Rocket
Go to Rocket AI. You’ll land on the homepage with a big input box that says: “What can I build for you today?”
This is where the magic happens, simply describe your idea.
For example, type:
“Build a simple mobile app called TaskBuddy. It should let users add tasks, mark them complete, and delete them. Use React Native for Android and iOS.”
Then click the ↑ (Generate) button or press Enter.

STEP 2: Let Rocket Build Your App
Within minutes, Rocket will start generating your full-stack code.
You’ll see it create project files automatically on the left (like main.dart, task_list_screen.dart, etc.) and a live app preview on the right.
Watch as your app structure, design, and backend are generated, all production-ready and editable.

STEP 3: Preview and Customize
Once the app appears in the Preview tab, you can test it interactively. Switch to the Code tab anytime to view or edit the generated code.
If you want to change frameworks, click the icons under Frameworks (React, Next.js, Flutter, etc.) at the bottom bar.
Rocket also supports integrations, like authentication, Supabase, OpenAI, or Stripe, from the Integrations tab.
STEP 4: Launch Your App
When you’re happy with your build, click the Launch button at the top right.
Rocket will deploy your app instantly, giving you a live, shareable link within seconds.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says by next year AI will work like an intern researcher — and by 2028, it could be a fully automated scientist.
Nvidia plans to invest $1B in Nokia for a 2.9% stake and announces a partnership to integrate Nvidia tech into Nokia's network products; NOK closed up 22.8%.
GitHub updates VS Code with Plan Mode for building step-by-step project approaches, MCP Registry integration, definable project rules via AGENTS.md, and more.
Sam Altman says OpenAI has committed to spend about $1.4T on infrastructure so far, equating to roughly 30GW of data center capacity.
